Star Wars Zero Company Launches August 27 — Everything You Need to Know Before Buying

Star Wars Zero Company launches on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. PC players can get it through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA App.

The official launch is scheduled for 3:00 PM UTC on August 27, 2026. Unlike a rolling midnight release, this creates one shared worldwide unlock time.

The Most Important Detail: No EA App Required

Star Wars Zero Company is Steam native and does not require the EA App launcher. This is a significant change from EA's recent Steam releases. You buy it on Steam, you launch it from Steam, full stop.

Preload Is Live Now

Starting today, you can preload the game so you're ready to jump in as soon as it goes live. Go to the Steam store page, purchase, and the download starts immediately.

Editions and Pricing

Standard runs $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox, while Deluxe is $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on console. Deluxe adds three cosmetic packs and nothing that changes how the game plays.

The PC version is $10 cheaper than console across both editions — unusual for a major EA release and worth noting if you're deciding where to buy.

Pre-orders include the Crystalline Astromech Pack, containing the R3 droid, translucent crystalline astromech heads for the R4 and R5 variants, and the BR-1 droid debuting in Zero Company. EA gives buyers until August 27, 2027 to redeem it — so even if you pre-order today, you have a full year to activate.

What the Game Is

Bit Reactor developed Zero Company in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. Players control Hawks, a customizable former Republic officer who leads Zero Company, an unconventional group of mercenaries and specialists operating away from the Clone Wars' major battlefields. Their campaign centers on the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned organization led by Kundri Fathom.

Gameplay emphasizes strategic positioning, base management, and mission planning, with RPG elements like squad progression and player choices influencing the campaign.

Familiar Star Wars characters can also appear during the campaign, including Anakin Skywalker, who appeared in the gameplay trailer shown during Summer Game Fest 2026.

No Early Access

EA has confirmed no early access tier at any price. Both editions unlock at the same time on August 27. There's no advantage to buying Deluxe in terms of when you can play.
